Key Collection The key safe is to the left of the front door. You'll receive the access code by email by 8:00 am on the morning of your arrival.

Parking There is on-street parking in the village, or the Parkins Garth car park at the village entrance is a short walk away.

Bins & Recycling General waste is collected on Monday mornings — the bin stays in the garden, no need to move it. On collection day, please place the green recycling box at the front of the cottage. Accepted items include glass, cans, plastic and cartons — rinsed, loose (not bagged) and with lids left on bottles.

Getting Here Askrigg sits in the heart of Wensleydale on the A684. From the A1(M), follow the A684 west through Leyburn — the village is well signposted. Sat nav postcode: DL8 3HS. The cottage is on Silver Street.

Heating The cottage has electric radiators throughout. Individual controls are on each radiator. Please close windows and doors when the heating is on, and turn all radiators off before checking out.

Log Burning Stove Logs and kindling are in the basket by the stove. If you run low, extras can be picked up from the village shop at the end of Silver Street. Please never leave the stove unattended, and note that candles are not permitted anywhere in the cottage.

Kitchen Fully equipped with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Tea, coffee and a small welcome pack are provided to get you started.

TV & Streaming The living room has a smart TV with Freesat, Netflix and BBC iPlayer. Use the remote to switch between inputs.

House Guidelines

The cottage is non-smoking throughout. If you do smoke, please do so outside and dispose of cigarette waste responsibly.
Please keep noise to a minimum between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am — the cottage has close neighbours and we appreciate your consideration.
Dogs are very welcome. Please don't leave them alone in the cottage, and keep them off the beds and soft furnishings.
Please do not charge electric vehicles, e-bikes or e-scooters using the cottage's domestic sockets — this is a fire safety requirement as domestic sockets are not rated for sustained charging.
Please never leave the log burner unattended, and make sure it is fully extinguished before bed or leaving the cottage. Candles are not permitted.
On departure, please wash up, bag your rubbish in the correct bins, close all windows and doors, and return the key to the safe outside.
